Why 2026 is the catalyst year for tokenized receivables

CurioInvest's New Year post: institutions are moving from exploration to implementation. The Swiss-DLT Act amendment is the legal hinge that turns that into a CFO-actionable 2026.

“2026 will be the catalyst year. Institutions are moving from exploration to implementation, and we're backing the founders building the infrastructure to enable it. Here's to a productive 2026.”

On 30 December 2025, CurioInvest closed the year with: 2026 will be the catalyst year. Institutions are moving from exploration to implementation. The post is short, but the three-word pivot — exploration to implementation — is the most important sentence in the assetization space this year.

What exploration looked like (2018-2024)

The 2018-2024 phase was about infrastructure. Building the legal frameworks (DLT Act, FinSA, nDSG), the technical standards (CMTAT, ERC-3643, CMTAT-RA, ERC-3525), the institutional knowledge (for a CFO, what does assetization mean, what does it cost, what does it return), and the curated proof of concept (pilot after pilot, with the same handful of issuers).

What implementation looks like (2025+)

The 1 January 2026 amendment to the Swiss DLT Act is the legal hinge. It now provides a clean, default answer to what kind of right a tokenised receivable represents. Up until now, that question required a written opinion from a Swiss law firm. From 2026 onwards, it's the law.

For a CFO, that means: legal teams are no longer the gate on a tokenisation project. A conservative legal team that wouldn't sign off on a written opinion in 2024 will sign off on the implementing ordinance in 2026. The 4-week legal cycle that was the bottleneck of every pilot becomes 4 days.

What this looks like in practice

For CurioExtract, 2026 is the year the dashboard stops being a 5-pilot curiosity and becomes the working tool of 50+ mid-market CFOs. The roadmap is:

  • Q1 2026: full production launch with 3 anchor issuers (1 logistics, 1 manufacturing, 1 SaaS services)
  • Q2 2026: API tier for ERP integration (SAP, NetSuite, DATEV) and QuickBooks/Xero connectors for mid-market
  • Q3 2026: Q3 milestone is a hard fork in our roadmap: native CMTAT v3.0.0 across Polygon mainnet and TON via Jamton (multi-chain issuance)
  • Q4 2026: Jamton GA on TON, which adds 1B+ Telegram users as a distribution surface for tokenised assets

What CFOs should plan for in 2026

The Forbes list (Oct 2025), the DLT Act amendment (Jan 2026), the CurioInvest product roadmap (above), and the institutional RWA pipeline (already $3B+ in notional) all point in the same direction. 2026 is when exploration ends and production starts. A CFO's planning should assume that a tokenised receivables product is on the menu by 26Q3 — and that the legal and vendor infrastructure is ready by 26Q1.

The CEO of CurioInvest has been saying this for 7 years. The Forbes list says the market is finally listening.
